The Healing Power of Visualisation

Excerpt from the book ”The Healing Power of Cancer” by Rob Prior

Initially, it felt like my cancer was out of my control, like a car hurtling towards a cliff. To counteract this, I imagined slamming on the brakes, turning around and driving back!

Now, you may say thats just a crazy flight of fantasy. But that vision gave me hope. And hope propelled my mind, body and spirit towards recovery. Bruce Lipton would agree.

Many people think memory is just stored in the brain. But research has shown that the cells of the body store emotional memories, also known as body memory.

Sometimes I would close my eyes and imagine my 6.5 cm tumour shrinking to 6 cm, 5 cm and so on, right down to nothing. While doing this, I felt a pleasant tingling sensation throughout my body, which suggested to me that my visualisation was being imprinted into my body memory.

By visualising my body healing, the fear of metastasis ceased to enter my consciousness, as I trusted that my body was healing. Then it dawned on me that a return to health was merely the beginning. I started to imagine how wonderful my life could be 5, 10, 20 years beyond recovery. This gave me extra motivation to stay disciplined.

Positive visualisation worked wonders for my cancer recovery in 2013.
